Hey, how about a story about someone wanting revenge on Caleb (or just wanting money) and hiring someone to abduct his grandson.  He's shown a picture of Seth but he's with Kirsten and Ryan.  Seth is not clearly pointed out as Caleb's grandkid so the guy mistakenly nabs Ryan due to his fair hair and blue eyes, like Kirsten's. 

1. What if Julie did give Caleb that drug-laced drink right before he died.

2. What if Julie went through with helping Charlotte con Kirsten and the Newpsies.

3a. What if Julie confessed to Kirsten about attempting to frame Ryan for attempted murder, or...

3b. assumed Kirsten knew and made an offhand comment about it.

It's incredibly Shakespeare, but that's what you get for watching The Taming of the Shrew in one of the film festivals!
